Big endings

Today was the last day of my middle school cross country career...but it's ok, because I figure I went out in a good way. It started with me wiping out on the track. Yes, it's possible. No hills, no potholes, no tree roots. Just flat, flat, and more flatness. We were running 200 meter intervals of jogging and sprinting, and I was on the very edge of lane one. We just got turf on our football field this summer, and there's a slight drop from the track to the turf. Not big, but it's there, trust me. So I'm sprinting a 200, and i accidentally missed the edge of the track with my foot and BAM, down I go. It was a pretty snazzy fall, though. I even somehow managed to get dirt on my face, knock out both of my earrings, and do a double somersault-like maneuver, and then pop right back up and start running again. To make it even better, the high school soccer, football, and girl's cross country teams just happened to be there. Thankfully, Sarah didn't see me. My coach did though, and when I came back around by the start line she said, "Nice dirt streak, Gunderthunder ", and let me go wash it off. At least she called me Gunderthunder. I've been pushing really hard for that nickname lately. Anyway, that was my last big middle school cross country thing. Oh, that and yelling,"I AM NOT A KID" when one of the football players said to wait for the little kids to cross the track.

Yep, that's me. Out with a bang.  :)

How to make wonderfully horrible cookies

1. Find your very favorite sugar cookie recipe. Make sure to be excited to make it.

2.Add the butter. Make sure to forget half of the needed amount.

3.Add the eggs. Mix in, then add another one for no reason.

4.Put in the rest of the ingredients, not paying any attention to specific directions.

5. Put into the fridge to chill for two hours longer than needed.

6. Remove from fridge and pound your frustrations out on it with a rolling pin. Cut out shapes and place in oven for about 8 minutes.

FROSTING

1.Pour milk, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla into a bowl and mix a little. It should come out looking like badly made oatmeal.

2.Add more powdered sugar and more milk, until it slightly resembles frosting.

*optional*
Color the frosting some seasonal color to mask the fact that it looks nothing like frosting.

Enjoy!

Slacking..

Ok,ok, I've been slacking. Sorry, but it's been an exciting world as of late. Why? Well....

1. Girls Camp! Funnest week of my life! We had an amazing skit that involved a parody of the YMCA song, and a last minute Princess Bride addition. It. Was. Awesome. Apparently I'm famous for being the "mawwage" girl:) I'll post a video once I get a hold of one.

2. Cross Country. It's been fun, and hard. So far its my best season:) It's done next week though, and it'll be nice to be able to go home after school:)

3. Doctor Who! My new nerdy thing. Love it!!

4. Stake dance!!!! I went to my first dance last week, and I was lucky enough to go to a multi stake dance. SEVEN STAKES. It was awesome, putting aside a VEERRRYYY awkward first slow dance. It was his first time too...

5.School. Not very exciting, but I feel an obligation to include it anyway. Moving on.

6. Speech tema.! One of my favorite parts of the year- speech season! I'm doing a duet with my friend Maddie about two very misplaced kindergarteners, and my solo is a shakespeare-y funny thing. I'M PUMPED.

Yeah, I know it's kind of lame, nut they'll get better once i get back into the swing of things:)

Boy Fighting

You'd think that in a house full of girls, my poor dad would never have anything to do with "boy playing". You would think wrong. Sure,we have a closet full of barbies, and littlest petshops, and other girl toys, but we also have a huge arsenal of nerf guns. My personal favorite is the automatic disk-throwing  "Vortex" , with the machine gun in close second. Sarah, Dad, and I are also very skilled at the art of Kung Fu. Just ask mom about it, she sees it in the kitchen all the time. We've also been known to yell out threats at each other, like the other day at the pool when two ladies were talking about how nice it is to get away from all the rowdiness that their boys cause, when I suddenly yell,"DON'T START SOMETHING YOU CAN'T FINISH, SARAH!!!". Lesson: There is no escaping "boy fighting" .

Lucy

If you reference my last post, you would be aware of a glorious truth:
WE GOT A DOG.
Her name is Lucy. She loves peanut butter, her blankie, her bear, and he tennis ball launcher. She's the most adorable thing you've ever seen:) Me and Dad drove 9 1/2 hours last Friday to go get her, listening to Ceasar Mellan's audiobook on raising the perfect puppy the whole way. She fell asleep on my lap, but for most of the way she slept on the back of my seat and completely took it over. Grandma suggested I blog The Chronicles of Lucy, so more will probably come;)
