Big endings

Today was the last day of my middle school cross country career...but it's ok, because I figure I went out in a good way. It started with me wiping out on the track. Yes, it's possible. No hills, no potholes, no tree roots. Just flat, flat, and more flatness. We were running 200 meter intervals of jogging and sprinting, and I was on the very edge of lane one. We just got turf on our football field this summer, and there's a slight drop from the track to the turf. Not big, but it's there, trust me. So I'm sprinting a 200, and i accidentally missed the edge of the track with my foot and BAM, down I go. It was a pretty snazzy fall, though. I even somehow managed to get dirt on my face, knock out both of my earrings, and do a double somersault-like maneuver, and then pop right back up and start running again. To make it even better, the high school soccer, football, and girl's cross country teams just happened to be there. Thankfully, Sarah didn't see me. My coach did though, and when I came back around by the start line she said, "Nice dirt streak, Gunderthunder ", and let me go wash it off. At least she called me Gunderthunder. I've been pushing really hard for that nickname lately. Anyway, that was my last big middle school cross country thing. Oh, that and yelling,"I AM NOT A KID" when one of the football players said to wait for the little kids to cross the track.

Yep, that's me. Out with a bang.  :)
